My psychograph: when I was a consultant (2009-2011)
I explain to you my psychograph using text book “Integral Spirituality.” As you may know, I was an international tax consultant while I lived in Japan. To tell you the truth, I officially retired from my company today!
Let’s get back to talking about my psychograph. I think that psychograph changes in accordance with promotion of position or what kind of job people engage in.
First, the below is my psychograph (I’ll use only Cognitive line and Interpersonal line to explain easily) when I was an analyst position. The title hierarchy of my company like this: analyst (3-4years)→senior analyst (3-5 years)→manager→senior manager→partner.
Each line’s numerical value is based on my work experience intuition. Why is my cognitive line high? That is because “business consultant job” requires me to think logically. I was trained to think critically in my job.
Next, if I get promoted to a manager, I think that my psychograph will change like the below.
This is my brief memo and my own insight.
What do you think of your own psychograph in your job? What kind of psychograph can you draw?
Integral Spirituality: A Startling New Role for Religion in the Modern and Postmodern World: KenWilber
Product Description:
Integral Spirituality is being widely called the most important book on spirituality in our time.
Applying his highly acclaimed integral approach, Ken Wilber formulates a theory of spirituality that honors the truths of modernity and postmodernity—including the revolutions in science and culture—while incorporating the essential insights of the great religions. He shows how spirituality today combines the enlightenment of the East, which excels at cultivating higher states of consciousness, with the enlightenment of the West, which offers developmental and psychodynamic psychology. Each contributes key components to a more integral spirituality.
On the basis of this integral framework, a radically new role for the world’s religions is proposed. Because these religions have such a tremendous influence on the worldview of the majority of the earth’s population, they are in a privileged position to address some of the biggest conflicts we face. By adopting a more integral view, the great religions can act as facilitators of human development: from magic to mythic to rational to pluralistic to integral—and to a global society that honors and includes all the stations of life along the way.
Short memo: Needless to say, this Ken’s book is wonderful. This book describes clearly and plainly Integral Theory (AQAL, Integral Operating System).
This book is a required text book in the class of Integral Theory B in Integral Psychology Program. I recommend it for you who want to know most recent Ken’s theory because this book will be a good guideline of his philosophy.

My curriculum in spring term 2011 @ JFKU
I decided to take three courses in this spring term talking with the chair. I'm going to register Integral Theory A (independent study), Integral Theory B and Research Writing.
Will anyone take these courses? Let's enjoy the class and study hard together! Also, I'm very happy to share some information with you.
I got a new vehicle. Am I like 007?
Today, I got a new vehicle. “What did you get?” “I got a new Aston Martin! Am I like 007?” “How did you get it?” “Of course, from my money. Also, by cash!”
… I’d like to say so in my future. The above conversations are jokes.
Actually, I bought a new bicycle like the below picture. From now on, I can go around anywhere by using this. Well, I think my bicycle is no less useful than an Aston Martin!

Comparing with my English writing and Japanese writing
My work experience analyzed by Maslow’s needs hierarchy concept
As you may know, Maslow suggested the famous theory “needs hierarchy concept.” This concept explains our human being needs categorizing them into five steps. I’ll overview my previous work situation using this model.
First ~ Physiological needs – Base salary: enough
Second ~ Secure needs – Pension Plan: enough
Third ~ Belongingness needs – Friends in work group: very satisfied
Fourth ~ Esteem needs – Job title – not satisfied because I worked for only two years, so no promotion.
Fifth ~ Self Actualization needs – Challenging job: sometimes satisfied
I think that my self actualization needs are so high, so I might sometimes feel a little bored with my job…
The Living Company
Short memo: I think that this book emphasizes on the importance of organizational learning. I found that one mistake of the concept shown in this book. That is a “The Ladder concept.” The author explains it like this.
Individual→Team→Work Group→Company→Corporation→Society
Umm…Social holons are build up on individual holon. That is a mistake.
Organizational Behavior 6th Edition

The sixth edition builds on its strengths of accessibility and contemporary topics by emphasising current, real-life examples and skill-building activities. Issues include technology, diversity, change, ethics and globalisation.
Short memo: The topics of this book are written from integral perspective.
Part2 is upper right quadrants topic: Individual processes in organization
Part3 is lower left quadrants topic: Interpersonal processes on organization
Part4 is lower right quadrants topic: Organizational processes and characteristics
・The author insisted that the study of organizational behavior is important because organizations have a powerful influence over our lives. Yes, I totally agree with the idea.
19, 26, 27, 21…….what are these numbers?
19, 26, 27, 21….What do you think these numbers are? The answer is a Plesant Hill high temperature (℃) this week after Monday. Very warm….no, it’s hot!! On the other hand, the temperatures of Tokyo in Japan are 15℃, 15℃, 15℃, 16℃. The temperature in Pleasant Hill and its volatility are high, I think.

Fire breath in the disastrous situation in Japan
I heard from my friend that one Japanese man survived the disastrous situation doing fire breath of Kundalini yoga. As you know, on this March 21st, the earthquake occurred in Tohoku region which was still so cold in this season. In a severe cold condition, he sustained himself raising his body temperature by fire breath.
I think that this practice awakens a human potential power and also I respect this ancient practice again.
A sad news: the close of a near Borders
I became sad today. That is because a Borders in Pleasant Hill was to close in the future (perhaps today?). I would want to go to the Borders from now on but I’m disappointed that I can’t do it any more. I think that the close of a real bookstore, Borders is due paperless books.
Which do you like paper books or paperless books? I love the former because reading paper books makes my ideas or thoughts more creative and wider. In the case that I read paperless books, that effect never happens.
What’s the level of consciousness of professors and students at JFKU?
In my view, most of universities in the world provide “orange” or “green” level programs, because academic world is apt to center on first tier level of consciousness.
How about JFKU integral studies program? I think that this program is a cutting edge and also a higher level of consciousness program. Yes, I can say that is a “teal” or “turquoise” program. If so, professors and students participating in that program have at least “teal” consciousness level, I believe.
Umm, I can hardly wait to meet high consciousness level people at JFKU!

Got an new iPhone 4
I got an iPhone 4 brand-new today. I think that this makes my daily life more convenient. Because I don’t have any phones I can use in USA, so at last I can contact my friends any time I want to! …However, I don’t have any friends in USA…That is a sad thing for me.
I believe that I can make a lot of friends if the spring term begins. I can’t wait to register my first friend in my new phone.
